Robert Harold Wood

Robert “Bob” Harold Wood of Conchas Dam, NM, passed peacefully on January 9, 2022 at the VA Hospital’s CLC (hospice) in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 85.

Bob was born in Paterson, NJ on April 19, 1936.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Okell and Ruth Alice (Van Syckle) Wood.  He is survived by his children, Michael Wood (Adrianne) and Michele Wood, both of Rio Rancho; and five grandchildren:  Ashlyn Wood Sanchez (John), Ethan Fragua, Michael Wood Jr., Aidan Wood, and Hailey Wood.  Bob was an only child.

After Bob graduated from high school, he went on to serve in the U.S Navy (Jan 1956-Dec 1959).  He then lived in Florida and had a wallpaper business. Started a family in 1970 and moved out to Cochiti Lake, NM in 1975.  After his divorce, he moved to Albuquerque for the next 20 years or so until he made his way out to Conchas Dam around 1998.  Bob was an avid golfer into his 70’s, and was a lover of sports watching.  Bob was a simple man who lived a simple life.
