Rose MacDougall

February 15, 1961 — December 28, 2021

Rose MacDougall, beloved wife, mother, sister in the Lord, and friend to all she met, went home to her savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on December 28, 2021.  She was born on February 15, 1961 in Albuquerque, NM to Joseph and Romelia Garcia. She grew up with her family in Jemez Springs NM.   She graduated from Jemez Valley High School in 1979 and received an associate’s of art’s degree from Eastern NM University in May of 1981.

She married the love of her life, Albert MacDougall, in June of 1984, and followed him in his Active Duty Navy Career to Orlando, FL; Idaho Falls, ID; Groton, CT; Charleston, SC and Colorado Springs, CO.  After leaving the Navy in 1991 they lived in Norristown, PA; Peoria, AZ; Las Alamos, NM and in 1997 they moved to their current home in Albuquerque, NM.

In May of 1987,while living in Charleston, she made the most important decision of her life when she received the gift of eternal life by believing with all her heart in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  After coming to Faith, Rose faithfully served the Lord in each church she attended and developed and nurtured life long relationships with brothers and sisters in the Lord everywhere she lived.  After moving to Albuquerque in 1997, Rose served with her husband as pre-marriage class leaders, Christian discipleship mentors, and many other ministries while attending Calvary Church.

Rose and Albert and their Adult children, Michael and Heather, started attending Calvary Chapel Southwest in the fall of 2018 and were active in numerous ministries together including kids ministry, hospitality ministry, bridge of Hope food pantry, and many others.  Heather recently started to play the piano on the worship team and Michael also faithfully serves. This brought great joy to Rose since she faithfully prayed for her children to follow hard after the Lord and the Lord gracefully answered the cry of her heart before she died.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Romelia Garcia, her brother, Stanley Garcia, and sister, Geraldine Carrillo.  She is survived by her Husband, Albert MacDougall, children, Michael MacDougall (fiancé Justine Benavidez) and Heather MacDougall (grandcat Atticus), siblings Reynaldo Garcia, Grace Marler (Husband Don), Joseph Garcia (wife Glyn), Georgia Madrid (husband Alex), and Patrick Garcia; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Rose loved to the full and put her whole heart into everything she did.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but because she accepted the Gift of Eternal Life freely offered to all by the Lord Jesus Christ, she is with those who died in Faith before her in Heaven and all who are fellow believers will see her again in Glory.
