On Thursday, May 14th, Sherri Lynn Stoner, loving mother, sister, and daughter passed away after her courageous battle with gastric cancer.
Sherri was born on January 26th, 1959 in Farmington, New Mexico to Nathan Vaughn and Beverly Gayle Stoner. Sherri worked as a claim’s adjuster for CNA. Sherri’s pride and joy was her son, Jared Cole Stoner Smith, of whom she was extremely proud. Sherri loved to travel, seeing many places such as Maine, Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska before her passing. These special trips with her mother and sisters were some of Sherri’s most memorable treasures. During her cancer journey, Sherri found great pleasure working as a volunteer for the Animal Humane Society. Sherri enjoyed going on outings with her tight-knit group of friends and spoiling her little white dog, Juneau. Sherri was known for her quick wit, beautiful smile, and kind and compassionate spirit.
Sherri was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Vaughn Stoner, and her son Matthew Tyler Stoner Smith. She is survived by her oldest son, Jared Cole Stoner Smith, his wife Hayley Smith, Sherri’s mother Beverly Stoner, and her two sisters Diane Stoner and Roxie Johnson.
