Timothy Edward Otero

February 1, 1952 — March 25, 2021

Timothy (Tim, Papa, Snoop Dog) Edward Otero, 69, proceeded onward into the eternal presence of Our Almighty God’s Grace, through His proclaimed Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 25, 2021 in the presence of his family at his home in Albuquerque, NM.

Tim was born in Albuquerque, NM to Dolores Pearl Christensen & George Gilbert Otero Sr. in 1952 where he was raised with his three siblings. He enlisted into the US Navy and was stationed in Hawaii, where he met the loves of his life, Connie Otero and her two sons, Sean and Jude Schwarze with whom he fully accepted and loved as his own. Once he served his time honorably within the US Navy, Tim and Connie returned to Albuquerque, NM to begin their new life as a family. Connie and Tim later welcomed their daughter Laina. Tim was a very prominent figure in his grandson Connor’s life, raising Connor like he was his own son. All of Tim’s grandchildren and family members were his life’s focus of continual dedication, love and prayer.

Following his divorce from Connie, Tim met Robin Provolt and her Son, Josh. Tim and Robin were engaged to get married until their plan was abruptly disrupted by the devastating and unfortunate loss of Robin to cancer. Tim continued to serve his love and commitment to Josh by staying in contact and maintaining their relationship beyond Robin’s passing. Tim enjoyed receiving family updates from Josh and his wife Siobhan, especially around the holidays.

Tim retired from Presbyterian Hospitals of NM as the Director of Security & Loss Prevention. He was instrumental in instituting several programs to help monitor and secure the sites that were under his purview. He had several other interests and hobbies, which included family trips to Hawaii and aloha shirts, and firearm shooting/training. He was a member of a local firearms shooting club, and enjoyed bonding with his grandchildren and friends over firearms education and target practice. He had a love for animals and adopted his two beloved rescue dogs, Delta and Charlie, who preceded him in death. He enjoyed yardwork, and often helped his family and friends with theirs, and there wasn’t a friend or acquaintance who didn’t appreciate or look forward to his beef jerky deliveries. He was a dedicated Prayer Team member at the Believer Center of Albuquerque and would serve on the Security Team, as needed.

Tim is survived by his Children: Victoria Van Dame, widow of son Sean, Jude Keoni Schwarze, Laina Otero, Josh Provolt, and wife Siobhan; Grandchildren: Connor Otero and wife Kayleigh, Taeru Van Dame, Vaughn Van Dame, Lorelai Provolt, Noah Provolt, Sophie Provolt, Bella Provolt, Charlotte Provolt, and Oliver Provolt; Great-grandchildren: Tannon “Cannon Ball” Otero; Siblings: Dr. George Gilbert Otero Jr. and wife, Susan, PA-C. Charles Daniel Otero and wife Sonia, Kevin Otero, and Jeff Otero.

He was preceded in death by his fiancé Robin Provolt; Ex-Wife / Friend Connie Otero; Son Sean Schwarze; Granddaughter Tahnee Schwarze; and Sister Edna Botone.
