William Earl Trimble

January 25, 1956 — July 2, 2019

William Earl Trimble, Jr. went home to the Lord on July 2 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 63.

He was born January 25, 1956, in Gordon, Nebraska, and spent part of his childhood in Eagle Mountain, California before his family moved to Durango, Colorado. He played nose tackle for the Durango High School Demons football team. Following high school he graduated from San Juan Vocational-Technical School and moved to Albuquerque where he began his career at Rust Tractor, the Caterpillar dealership. Later in his career, he returned to Caterpillar (now named Wagner). He was a gifted professional and could fix anything with an engine.

Will was a caring husband and father who loved making Christmases magical for his family. He had a passion for the game of baseball, and was among the best Little League coaches around to his son’s teams, and was thrilled when he got to attend his first World Series game in 2010. He was also among the biggest supporters of his daughter’s ballet and tap dancing, and attended more recitals than most dads would ever dare. He excelled at serving his customers and made lifelong friends with his colleagues at Caterpillar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Trimble, Sr., and Twila Trimble, as well as his younger sister Earlene Finch.

He is succeeded by his wife, Jill Trimble; son Ryan and his wife Lauren; daughter Brooke Trimble-Sharp and her husband James Sharp; granddaughter Tabitha and grandson Tate; and his oldest sister Cherrie Brown.

A service in celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church located at 215 Locust St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Reception to follow.

The family would like to thank Michelle and Tammy and the team of caregivers at Wellesley Home for the loving care they provided in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Will’s name to Watermelon Ranch (www.wmranch.org) or First Presbyterian Church of Albuquerque (https://firstpresabq.org/).
