Pete Saavedra Jr. sadly passed away on April 14, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Barbara Saavedra, and wife Priscilla, and is survived by his brother Paul Saavedra of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, his son David Saavedra of Gold River, California, and his daughter Suzanne Saavedra-Zaranti (Sammy) of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pete was born on March 31, 1940, in San Antonio, New Mexico to Pete and Barbara Saavedra. After growing up in Albuquerque, Pete served four years in the Marine Corp./ Reserves. He soon thereafter married Priscilla Jaramillo who passed away tragically. Pete remarried to Linda and in 1966, his job transferred him to Las Vegas, Nevada where he and Linda raised his new family. Pete spent most of his career as an airline ticket agent for Hughes Airwest in Las Vegas, and Northwest in Memphis. He retired and moved back to Albuquerque.
Pete loved sports, especially his beloved Rams of which he was a life-long fan. He also loved music and you could always catch him singing or whistling his favorite tunes. Pete formed strong relationships with dozens of friends and a wide network of airline colleagues. He touched many lives but never accepted just how much he was loved by others. He was a very laid-back, peaceful person who will never be forgotten by his friends and family.
Services will be held in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at Daniel’s Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Road SE, on May 6, 2022, at 11:00AM.
