Robert “Bobby” Eloy Nolan, age 72, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born March 30, 1950 to William E. and Elsie C. Nolan in Quervo, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother. He is survived by his daughters, Alexandria Nolan and Hope Padilla and husband Eddie; son, Robert Nolan; granddaughters, Laila Ortiz-Nolan and Briella Nolan; grandsons, Jerome Preut and Anthony Padilla; all are residents of Albuquerque, NM.
Bobby graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1968. Following graduation he attended New Mexico Highlands University. He honorable served his country in the US Army; he was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was a longtime member of Santa Rosa Church of Christ. He led Bible studies for his church.
Bobby was raised in Santa Rosa, NM. He was always a huge sports fanatic. He played baseball as a young boy and in high school he was an elite athlete playing basketball, football, and track and field. Bobby was also a great fisherman and loved fishing in Santa Rosa. Bobby was also a terrific grandfather; he would always take his grandkids fishing every summer for a week while they were growing up. Bobby was a devout Christian and loved to serve others: he led Bible studies for his church; served as a judge in Vaughn, NM as well as coaching youth sports in Santa Rosa and Albuquerque, NM. Once he was retired he served as a substitute teacher in Las Vegas, NM and Santa Rosa, NM. A few other interests of Bobby was wood carving, cooking and stone carving.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Santa Rosa Church of Christ, corner of 3rd and Pecos, Santa Rosa, NM.
A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, June, 7, 2022 at 12:00 PM, at UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel (main campus); parking will be in “C” Lot (corner of Las Lomas Rd NE and Redondo Dr.; chapel is located southeast of parking lot) prior to Interment at 3:00 PM at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
